About DJ Chizz.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, I was heavily influenced by all types of music. From ZZ Top to Beyonce to Yolanda Adams to UGK to The Geto Boys. They all influenced me in some form. In my house, my parents were always playing music. Whether it was Marvin Gaye, Mary J. Blige, Frankie Beverly & Maze, there was always loud tunes being played at home. Occasionally, my dad would record home videos of my brothers and I performing as if we were in a band. Even though my parents had a deep love and passion for music, I never learned to play an instrument. It wasn't until I got to college when I decided to start deejaying. One random night my roommate and I were having our occasional heart-to-heart talks, and I came up with the bright idea that I would become a DJ. It was almost a no-brainer for me. I love music and my friends always told me that I made the best playlists. After months of deejaying small house parties and gatherings, I decided to go by the name “DJ Chizz.” Chizz comes from my last name, Chism. In high school, people knew me as Chism or Tyree Chism. So for me to use the name DJ Chizz, was a given. Since making the decision to become a DJ in 2013, I've been able to provide my musical talent to many people and establishments. I’ve had the opportunity to perform at festivals such as Chilli Fest in Snook, TX, live on KTRU at Rice University, Rosenberg Rail Road Museum Fall Festival and many other events. I’ve also had the pleasure of deejaying at some of the hottest nite clubs in Houston such as Set, Therapy, and Life Saturdays and more!
